Security Setup — PIN & 2FA
Your Kynettic account holds real money — so protecting it matters. This guide walks you through setting up your Transaction PIN and enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).

Don't skip this! Without a transaction PIN or 2FA, your account is more vulnerable. Setting these up takes less than 5 minutes and can prevent you from losing your funds.
Part 1 — Transaction PIN
Your PIN is required every time you move money — withdrawals, swaps, and P2P trades. It's separate from your login password.

Go to Security Settings
Tap your Profile icon, then go to Security or Security Settings. Look for Set Transaction PIN or Setup PIN.

Create your PIN
Enter your PIN and confirm it. Avoid obvious patterns like 1234 or 0000 — pick something personal but not guessable.

PIN set!
Every withdrawal, swap, and sensitive transaction will now require this PIN. Keep it safe and don't share it with anyone — not even Kynettic support.

Forgot your PIN? You can reset it from Security Settings using your account password and email verification.
Part 2 — Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
2FA adds a second layer of protection to your login. Even if someone gets your password, they still can't get in without your 2FA code.
What is 2FA? Think of it like a door that needs two keys. Your password is the first key. The 2FA code — a 6-digit number that changes every 30 seconds — is the second. Even if a hacker gets your password, they don't have the second key.
You'll need an authenticator app: Download Google Authenticator or Authy (both free) from your app store before continuing.

Go to Security Settings → Enable 2FA
In your Security Settings, find the Two-Factor Authentication section and tap "Enable 2FA" or "Set Up 2FA."

Scan the QR code
Kynettic will show you a QR code. Open your authenticator app, tap "+" or "Add Account," then scan the QR code shown on screen.

Can't scan? Tap "Copy Key" — you can paste it manually into your authenticator app instead.

Enter the 6-digit code to verify
Your authenticator app will show a 6-digit code that changes every 30 seconds. Type that code into Kynettic to confirm 2FA is linked correctly, then tap Verify.

Save your backup codes
Kynettic will give you backup codes — one-time-use codes for emergency access if you lose your phone. Save these somewhere safe offline — a notebook, printed paper, or secure notes app.

Do NOT skip this step. If you lose your phone and have no backup codes, you may be locked out of your account. Screenshot the codes and store them somewhere safe.

2FA is active!
From now on, when you log in, you'll be asked for a 6-digit code from your authenticator app. Open the app, get the code, and enter it.

Lost your phone? If you saved your backup codes, use one to log in. If not, contact Kynettic support — you'll need to go through identity verification to recover your account. This is why saving backup codes matters.
